Jack graduated with LLB (Hons) in 2011, and has over the years developed his skills and expertise in different areas of the law to include, property, commercial, trusts and asset planning, property relationship matters, immigration, and dispute resolution. Jack is passionate about achieving results for clients.
Angie holds three university degrees including Bachelor of Laws from the University of Auckland gained in 2015. Angie is a general practice lawyer with a special interest in property law, immigration, wills, trusts & estates. She also has a few years of litigation experience under her belt. She also speaks fluent Tagalog.
Angie values the professional relationship she forms with clients and likes to be a positive influence wherever she can.
As Garcia Law is now incorporated in this firm, Angie is currently serving that client base.
Nigel is a litigator with experience in New Zealand originally as a Crown Prosecutor and then in civil litigation, including at one of New Zealand’s largest law firms. After practising law in the Cayman Islands where, amongst other things, he worked on two multi-billion US dollar cases, he returned to New Zealand in 2021. Nigel has four university degrees including from the University of Cambridge and has written various peer-reviewed published articles.
Jose graduated from the University of Auckland with a BCom/LLB and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor to the High Court of New Zealand in April 2016. He advises on building and construction issues as well as general civil litigation matters and has experience in dealing with clients’ disputes. Working closely with clients, Jose has a keen interest in seeking the most effective outcomes for them.
Claudia graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in communication studies). Claudia works across a diverse range of matters within the firm’s spectrum, and has a particular interest in employment, unit title and contractual disputes. Claudia also regularly appears for clients in debt collection matters and is dedicated to providing effective results for those chasing debts. Claudia has the ability to quickly adapt and contribute to any litigation support role she may find herself in, within the firm and with external counsel and is sought after on commercial disputes because of her intelligent efficiency.
Oliver graduated with a LLB in 2014 and has worked in the Auckland area since then. He has expertise in property, wills, trusts, asset planning, company/commercial, relationship property and dispute resolution. Oliver enjoys using his legal knowledge and previous commercial experience to form professional relationships with clients and help them achieve their goals.
Dean commenced his legal career practicing tax, commercial and finance law (including trust advice) at Buddle Findlay.
He subsequently obtained substantial experience in listed and un-listed transactions, due diligence and financial services roles while working for two profile investment banks and in corporate executive roles. That experience runs from cross-border leasing to responsibility for ING’s NZ retirement village operations for a number of years.
His ability to understand the numbers and the legal structure has allowed him to act as a mediator and adviser on relationship property, shareholder and trust disputes.
Vinnie graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor to the High Court of New Zealand in May 2021. Vinnie works across a range of general litigation matters within the firm’s expertise, in particular he has a keen interest in employment issues, contractual disputes, dispute resolution as well as trusts and relationship property matters. Vinnie is excited to use his legal skills and knowledge in a collaborative way to provide effective outcomes for his clients whilst also building and maintaining those relationships.
Toni is a Registered Legal Executive who works closely with Angie Burling. Toni obtained her NZLS Legal Executive Diploma in 2010 and she is an Associate member of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. With over 30 years’ experience in the legal profession, she appreciates the variety of work that general practice provides. Toni enjoys assisting Angie to deliver a seamless, professional experience for their clients.
Lea has worked as a legal executive in general practice since 2016. She has a special interest in property law, commercial matters, trusts and wills. She enjoys using her legal knowledge and skills to assist new migrants in New Zealand. As a property investor herself, Lea is also experienced in finding practical solutions for her clients who want to climb the property ladder. Lea has a rich overseas experience in China, and in Germany. She has a Bachelor of Arts, Master of European Studies, Graduate Diploma of Marketing and currently in the second year of her Bachelor of Law alongside work. Lea speaks fluent Mandarin, and German.
Elaine has worked as a Legal Executive in New Zealand since 2006 and obtained a Diploma in Legal Studies in Ireland. With over 20 years in the legal profession between Ireland and New Zealand, Elaine enjoys using her legal knowledge and expertise to assist clients with property transactions, wills and estates, trust administration, company incorporation and administration.
Sandra is our Office Manager who works closely with Doug Cowan and provides administration assistance to our team. Sandra has worked in the legal profession for a number of years and has vast experience in all aspects of the day-to-day management of a busy legal firm.
Jane is currently in her fifth year at the University of Auckland studying a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws (Hons) conjoint degree, majoring in criminology. Jane is exploring many different areas of the law through her studies and is especially passionate about Maori Justice and Indigenous Law. Jane enjoys assisting the team and has developed a keen interest in property law and wills. Jane is excited to further expand on her legal skills and knowledge.
